Can I start a SaaS as a Community Manager/Marketing Strategist

Hi guys!
I have a big idea for creating a SaaS, but I don't know what type of co-founder should I look for, cuz as I'm a Community Manager with knowledge in Marketing, I can take that part, (Obviously should be someone that knows how to develop software) but as I don't understand about coding, idk what he/she should know, like what programs or languages.

Also, I would like to know who are the key team members to start with...

If someone can help me, I will appreciate it :)

You can also try it yourself with No-Code where you build a very minimal first version where you focus on the feature that brings the most value to the user.

    The benefits:

    • Very low costs
    • Very fast
    • You can very fast ask feedback to your users
    • You will know more clearly what your product will need to be
    • It will be easier to find a cofounder when you already have some paying users

A very good example is the story of Sharath and his SaaS 'ShoutOut.

These days you can totally start with just 1 or 2 founders as the core team.

An AI app can be made super quick and provide a ton of value but so could a few other types of software based businesses (especially with templates from No Code tools and Coding libraries).

I think the problem may lie in the fact I see you want to start a SaaS but you didn't mention the problem your solving.

Depending on the problem you try to solve you'll need different team members (as an example certain ideas require lawyers much early than others).

My suggestion would be to decide on a problem that you'd like to solve. Then build a business model around something that you could start with minimal tech investment (unless you're able to find friend or stranger who's able to commit the time to do the tech alignment).

There's a bunch of Saas's that could be "faked" from the MVP level (as an example you have a landing page but when someone hits the buy button you actually do the work instead of a program/app).

By defining the problem you want to solve, you'll be able to begin aligning the solution by talking with potential customers (landing pages can be the start of this). Once you have the info from potential customers you should have a more solid idea about what you'd be making and the team you'd need to build it.

Alternatively, you could find someone with tech that you like and offer to join their team!

    Hope this helps!
