Can I use the internet as a free university?

I'm currently working on jotted, a chrome extension that helps you may your digital knowledge into mind maps instead of digital folders. We also have a community where people can share the trees they've created in order to build connected learning pathways out of free resources on the web.

We're operating under the assumption that everything you could want to know is already out there on the web, so we don't need as much content "creation" as we do "curation". What do you all think? Is it time to prioritize clarifying and connecting information over just creating it?
