Can my Idea work for SaaS Entrepreneurs?

Hey everyone! I’m building a tool called Pabble.io to help SaaS founders automate personal emails triggered by user behavior. The goal is to make communication feel more personal while saving time—especially when engaging trial users, onboarding customers, or sending out updates. Plus, you can add countless triggers to start email sequences tailored specifically for SaaS.

I have 100 people signup for waitlist from twitter.

But I’d love to get some feedback from fellow founders—does this solve a pain point for you? Your thoughts would be really appreciated!

What do think of the Idea?
  1. Yes, its useful!
  2. It can be better
  3. Nop!

Are you focusing on the real problem, though?

    Is the problem:

    • 'emails aren't personalised enough'?

    Or is it:

    • 'people receive far too many emails'?

Hey Azfar, I'd say this is definitely useful.. but there's a lot of competition. From cheap/simple tools like Sendgrid to more advanced and expensive solutions like Braze. I use both myself for different projects.

I'd recommend a full review of the competitive landscape (if you've not already done it) and be clear for yourself on how you win customers when they have the other choices as well.

Is the differentiation that it's easy to integrate, or it's cheaper, .. or what?

Great idea! Can't wait to see how Pabble can streamline my SaaS business.

I don't like spamming people and hate when founders start sending me multiple emails. So, it's definitely not for every founder. Also, there are already tons of automation tools, how would you compete with them?

    1. 1

I totally get that nobody wants to feel spammed.. That’s why I focuses on making emails genuinely personal, not overwhelming. Instead of mass emails, it allows founders to send 1:1-style messages that are triggered by users’ actual needs and actions, like onboarding help, feature guidance, or timely support.

This is not marketing tool, I am not competing against any marketing tool.

Well, again, maybe there are people who like such emails but I don't. I hate receiving emails with text like "Hey [name]! We noticed you started your project but didn't finish yet... blabla". For me, if I don't initiate a support case, I don't want to receive such emails, especially based on some algorithm, workflow etc. I only accept normal communication between live humans, not sent by service, automatically.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I totally understand where you’re coming from getting generic automated emails can feel a bit off, especially if they don’t feel personal.

With Pabble, I am actually trying to approach this differently. My goal isn’t to create AI-driven, marketing-style messages but to give founders a way to stay connected in a personal, meaningful way, as if they were reaching out themselves. For example, if a SaaS founder has hundreds of new signups, it’s tough to send a genuine “welcome” or “how’s it going?” email to everyone. Pabble helps by allowing founders to pre-set these kinds of thoughtful emails, which come from their actual email and feel like authentic check-ins.

The goal is to replicate what a founder might already want to say, just in a way that makes it scalable as the user base grows. I really appreciate your feedback—it’s a great reminder that transparency and personalization matter most. 😊

          Thanks again!

How many triggers would you setup? I guess you'll be using AI for all automations. How do you prevent it from hallucinations?

    1. 1

Good question! For triggers, Pabble is flexible—we let founders set up any key triggers they need based on real user behaviors, like signing up, visiting certain pages, or hitting milestones. This way, it’s customized for each SaaS’s journey and specific user actions.

We actually don’t use generative AI for automation, so there’s no risk of it ‘hallucinating’ or making guesses. Instead, the automations are based on clear, predefined actions and segments set by the founder. The goal is to keep it straightforward and as reliable as possible, so it feels intentional rather than automated 😊

I am also partnering with some top email marketers to setup some email sequences to help founders, however I am always there for help!

    This is a great idea.

Are there not competitors in this space already which are larger?

Also, how do you prevent getting flagged as a spam domain and then blacklisted from google, etc?

    1. 1

There are tons for email marketing tool, but we are not!

Pabble stands out by focusing specifically on founder-driven communication tailored for SaaS startups. Rather than acting as a broad email tool, Pabble is designed to let founders connect on a personal level with users, using behavioral data to send messages that feel genuinely 1:1.

For deliverability and avoiding spam issues, we’ve built safeguards into Pabble. Each founder sends emails from their own verified domain, which keeps messages authentic and builds domain reputation over time. Plus, we provide guidance on best practices for avoiding spam filters—like using the right frequency, personalizing emails, and tracking user preferences. Our goal is to keep these messages welcome and impactful..

Interested in the last question. It's really easy to slip into that pit! Even better if we could get an article tackling that subject.

Hey martin, how have you been.. we had lot of conversations before 😊 ? I Hope I have answered the question martin. Cheers!!!

You have! Thank you Azfar, my now old friend :P

that seems useful, you might want to target bigger companies.
as someone who leads a large engineering team, I would have loved to have this in the earlier stage where we created similar functionality in-house.

Your pricing seems to be on the lower side for such a tool.

btw, a lot of the functionality seems broken on the website, the pricing slider doesn't seem to work

    1. 1

Thank you so much for the thoughtful insights! It’s great to hear that Pabble could be valuable, especially at the early stages for teams before they reach that scale where custom solutions become feasible. I ll be reaching out to larger companies but before that I though I stick to few indiehackers get the feedback and then go ahead.

As for pricing, that’s a helpful point. I want it to be accessible for early-stage founders but also to scale effectively as it provides more value, especially with tier-based options now live on the site.

And thanks for catching the slider issue! I’ve fixed it now to be tier-based for clarity and smoother UX. Always appreciate the feedback, especially from someone with your experience!
