Can you have too much feedback?

It seems like an axiom of product/software development that you should always collect more feedback, more often.

This has always bothered me a bit, because I think there's a time for lots of feedback but also a time for following your gut and doing something creative.

I think there are parallels here with gradient descent, where you want to adjust the learning rate over time. (Sound like a stretch? I wrote more about it in a blog post if you're interested.)

This seems especially relevant here because not only do IndieHackers collect a lot of feedback, but a lot of the tools I see on here are for collecting feedback. Do y'all think there's any utility in having these tools regulate the amount of feedback we receive?

I routinely decide to ignore a lot of feedback. But I still want to collect it and give my customers the opportunity to share their opinion as easily as possible. There is definitely some utility in making it easy to sift through feedback. I currently have 300+ unread emails which are all feedback in some form or another and at the moment, I just go through them chronologically one by one. A smart grouping of feedback based on a keyword based model which adapts over time would be pretty neat.
