Can you recommend a good, affordable email service?
I'm looking for an email service that can help me send emails. But these aren't mass marketing emails. Rather email tailored to individual user. For example, all relevant stats to a user, delivered once a day.
Could you recommend a email service that I can use? Preferably something that has a well documented API. Nice to have would be a feature to detect dead emails.

If you are a dev, take a host and install postal+sendy.
ConvertKit isn't free, but I believe it does have good functionality in terms of creating segments for different email recipients.
I would recommend https://sendgrid.com/ and https://www.mailgun.com/ as I'm using these to send alerts to my product users.
Would definitely recommend Mailgun. It's easy to use, and easy to evolve when needed (dedicated IP, managed service...). I only had good experiences with it.
Mailjet not much, I got a lot of interface bugs and crashes (for newsletter management) which did not convince me to use it. But there templating language MJML https://mjml.io/ is really cool!
I implemented mailgun for a client and it went really well!
Both Mailgun and Mailjet have a pretty generous free package.
