Can you roast this idea?

Problem

For startups it is difficult to win first users because the product or service has not yet proven itself.

For early users trying out a new product is risky, because it can be a significant time investment. If a project is not seriously pursued, this risk is even higher.

Solution

A listing site similar to product hunt. But the profile page for each startup should contain not only the pitch but focus on trust building transparency utilizing integrations of third party apps. E.g.

  • What people are saying about this product (from a feedback widget)
  • How fast it is growing (from analytics service)
  • How actively it is developed (e.g. from GitHub)

This also reduces the risk for early adopters. It increases the chance that time will be invested in a new product that continues to exist and might flourish in the future.

      Thanks! That's a great idea.

It's like you have a 2 sided market and you only ask one side what he wants and build that.
    What do the user want?
Early adopters are not the ones to care about what others are saying as there aren't any...

Thank you. Well, I try new products quite frequently, but I only want to try them if I know that they are actively developed and have potential. That reduces the risk for me as an early adopter for trying new things. Because I invest my time. I don't know how other early adopters see this.

How about describing the problem from that side as well?

          Thanks! I'll do that.
