Can you roast this landing page?

Hi there.

I've recently started a project that lists the latest & most interesting startups.
https://melbado.com/

Should I make the newsletter more visible on the landing page?
Any feedback is highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

      Hey Nathan!
Thank you so much for your honest feedback! It's really great and exactly what helps to move this project forward.

For me it's not clear what this is about and what would I get from subscribing. It's a list of startups, ok, but what's special about it? I can find lists of startups in a lot of places.

I'd say that the idea is too simplistic and there is nothing unique about it. A list of startups isn't special, a list with startups that can specifically help me might be, or having a list of discounts for those products might be as well. But as it is now, it's not something compelling enough to make me browse.

I even clicked on a startup and was hoping to read some more information about it, like something I can't find anywhere else (eg. here on indiehackers, you click on a product and can see funder's updates, some revenue numbers, some more social media links, etc). Would've been nice to see that on your website as well.

My 2 cents, hope it helps to iterate further and take it further :)

Hi! Thank you, this is really helpful!

I think you are totally right, I have to develop the USP further.
Basically I want to add a page for each startup, explaining how you can join each beta, what is expected, and maybe what you get (maybe a special deal?) if you help by being a beta-tester.

And I want to add a personalized overview page for each beta tester so you can take notes and provide feedback for each beta you've joined and have a general overview over which betas you've joined.

Would that make sense to you?

I can't really tell you, I am probably not in your target audience. It's up to you to try things out and see what works, iterate and come with something of value.

The things I do that would resemble what you are talking about is discovering new software for specific purposes through alternativeto.net and explore. But I am not particularly interested in discovering or joining betas for startups.
