Hey everyone! I've just launched https://melbado.com/ and it would be great to get some feedback. Thanks in advance!
I like the very clean design of the page. From the first headline alone I did not get what the product was about. Maybe try to use "Kudos" in that hero section, because once I saw that word then it clicked for me?
As someone else pointed out, if you could frame the TV Dashboard with some TV, I think it would go a long way.
From a product perspective, I would make the message itself much bigger. The use of the avatar for both the sender and recipient is also making it a little more confusing. Maybe use different sizes for the sender and recipient? Maybe also try to move things around a bit, you have plenty of unused white space on the right of the kudos box, which might be used to put the avatars or time.
Thank you, poitch! That is great feedback. I'll think how I can get "Kudos" into the headline. And I totally agree with framing the TV dashboard.
Also thank you for the product feedback! There is definitely some room for improvement. I've noticed all the things you've said. Meanwhile, I'm looking for the first active team...
I didn't get the fact it would show on A TV, only by seeing the comment did I get that.
So I guess the message isn't clear. Perhaps bold that unique feature. Or an image that would clearly show its a TV display and not just a dashboard on mobile.
If you want some roasting, I can't imagine many would get a TV setup just to display kudos. However, the kudo webapp is trending these day, loads of companies adopting the solution to boost moral and sense of recognition.
I've just changed the second heading to "Live TV Dashboards". Do you think this makes the message more clear?
It's much clearer.
Thank you! I love the idea of putting an image that shows a TV display. And I agree that setting up a TV is quite some hurdle..
The landing page looks pretty nice and it's clear what your product does.
One thing that is missing, is addressing the customer's concerns. I am afraid that showing this on the TV will lead to some employees feeling excluded, or not appreciated if they are not visible on that screen. Also seeing who gave the feedback might make it look sometimes like people "kissing each other's asses". How can I be sure that this will lead to a stronger team and not one where people are more divided?
Another possible concern: Why would I write it on that TV? Doesn't saying those things in person mean a lot more and lead to a stronger connection?
I would personally make private the person who gave the kudos, only keep the receiver public. This way you avoid my previous concern and also add a lot of mystery/excitement to the experience: who said that nice thing about me? Is it Joe? Is it Laura?
Thank you! That is a great idea.
Great feedback! There are some competitors who have already successfully launched similar products (https://www.g2.com/categories/employee-recognition). And the users seem to love it. Only there is no one who focuses on great live TV dashboards.
Imagine you get a coffee at work and above the coffee machine hangs a TV with praise for you that everyone can see. I suspect that public praise is much more motivating than private praise.
But I totally agree with you, when people kiss each other's asses, it's a problem.
The landing page looks very nice 👍🏾, and I can understand what the product does from browsing the page. The only thing I'd say is maybe add more images of the product in use to give a better idea of what the UI looks like as it relates to the features of the product.
The company I work for uses a similar type of team building software called Star that uses a point system to awards points to people who receive praise from their colleagues. Each team member gets a set number of points per week/month to award to their colleagues. If you accumulate enough points you can use them to get things like store/restaurant gift cards etc. This sort of gamification has actually done wonders to get people to actually use the program. If you are looking for ways to increase engagement within the platform, perhaps something similar could be useful... that is if you are not already doing something like this.
Thank you for your feedback, Corey!
The problem with the pictures is that the product is not yet completely finalized. So that it looks really good.
Your feedback is a further indication that the competition has already become very popular. This fact and the fact that it is a big hurdle for many companies to install TV's in the office is problematic.
Considering the present time, where remote work becomes more and more normal, I decided to pursue another idea. On https://melbado.com/ you will find now a completely different landing page.
I thank you and also all the other indie hackers that I can use my time so targeted! This is an amazing community.
