Can you use an AI coding agent without a credit card?

A lot of AI coding tools eventually ask you for a payment method, an API key, or a subscription before you can really use them.

But what if you just want to try AI coding first?

We're building Clixad as a cloud-based AI coding agent that doesn't require your own API key or a monthly subscription to get started.

Clixad runs in the terminal and can inspect a project, read and edit files, run commands, test changes and iterate on errors.

Users get free coding credits, and can earn more through advertiser-funded offers, forms and surveys.

We also recently made our five cheapest models free to use within their daily limits, so some AI coding usage doesn't cost any credits at all.

The inference itself obviously isn't free. Clixad is just using a different way to cover that cost instead of requiring every user to pay directly.

This is mainly useful for people who want to try AI coding, build a side project, or use an AI coding agent occasionally without signing up for another paid developer tool.

So if someone asks “Can I use an AI coding agent without a credit card?”, the answer can actually be yes.
