Hi all,
recently I had the opportunity to gain some interview experience in the software engineer and web development sphere. During that time frame, I had interactions with a number of companies all promoting similar job positions. Looking back, one of the most stressful parts of the entire job search process was the regular shift of interaction from company to company.
Ideally, I'd like to create an app to centralize the communication streams between a candidate and all potential employers. I found myself routinely second guessing answers to questions for fear that I had already given a different response in a similar context or to a different individual within that company.
I think that providing an interface to organize the communication between candidates and potential employers could lead to better history of conversation and help those who are searching keep a clear mind while answering questions to multiple companies.
Looking for a bit of feedback on this idea as well as insight to others that may already be doing something like this.
Thanks for taking the time to read about my idea!
Hello Austin
It sounds like a novel idea to me. Most of the solutions I have seen are from the employer's point of view not from the candidates.
However, do you plan to monetize it? If so how big is the market? Technology engineers in the bay area could be a niche because only a few industries have such an active job marketplace.
If you want to target this niche then you need to think about what information management tools they are already using, for example, an app, simple notepad, etc and whether they will pay for this app
Cheers

Thanks for your reply, Preeti!
It seems like the few people I have chatted with have the same insight as you. Most of the implementations are organized from an employer point of view as the idea may be that there is a one to many relationship from employers to candidates and not the other way around.
I do need to do a bit more research as far as targeting a specific niche or if this is something that could be used across more fields that have similar hiring processes.
I appreciate the feedback, as it gives me some more topics to inquire about as I process this idea.
