Can't decide what to build next? I have for you a dataset of 250K+ Saas & Apps to get you inspired!

Hi, I'm launching Eurekea today : http://www.eurekea.org/

THE WHAT ?

Eurekea == IKEA for your Eureka Moments

==================================================================
THE WHY ?

Like most of the indie hackers/hustlers here, finding the perfect idea was the most difficult task for me. So I thought, why not see what others are making.But the problem was: there are so many people like me, launching so many things in so many different domains on multiple platforms.

Filtering them to find my perfect niche of interest is almost impossible for a human.So, why not automate it, right?

==================================================================
THE HOW ?

I've curated a dataset of nearly 250K+ saas/startups/side-hustles from the major launching platforms(ProductHunt & Google Play Store) with 28 unique & useful data points.

Here are few data points for e.g:

i. Numerical-insights: Votes, reviews, comments, rating, similar products in the market

ii. Sentimental-insights: Positive, negative, neutral reviews count

iii. Content: Name, slug, tagline, description, tags, maker's comments, top users comments

==================================================================

The website is live at http://www.eurekea.org/

I've added a demo on the site along with a google spreadsheet for an in-depth data snapshot. Feel free to check it out & share your reviews.

PS: We are doing a full launch soon, so do subscribe to get early bird offers on plans.

    Can you explain how this is supposed to help me build products? What you're collecting is basically just data of existing and already built ideas. I can see how this is helpful to see if my idea is already in use, but why would i build something that already exists?

      You can be a competitor of an existing business, it means there is validated demand and maybe you can do something different to address the same problem.

      Also if you're outside the US, maybe you can bring an idea to your region/language.

      Hi Nikoisonfire, thanks for replying.
      The dataset can be useful for people like you who are trying to solve problems with their code.I can give you a few examples of how:
      i. You can filter out the products in your niche of interest which has high downloads and poor reviews. This means there's an opportunity to do things "your own way" to solve what the existing product is failing at.
      ii. Let's say there's a successful product X for users group/domain Y. Based on their feedback & product description, you can do the same for domain Z-if not done before.
      iii. You can see what type of products are trending currently to get an early ride on that market. Early bird gets the worm, they say!
      iV. You can always run various analysis/ML models on this data to bring out the insights. E.g: 'what makes certain gaming apps more popular?' based on sentiment analysis of customer reviews OR 'why certain makers always succeed with their launch' These might not be the aptest examples, but hopefully, you got the point.

      I believe in the hustling world-where where you've to keep running to stay where you are; if the process of ideating is purely dependent on epiphanies or scratching personal itches (though important); will make us a bit stagnant. So the fastest way to get inspiration is to find an opportunity which aligns with your interest. Hence, I build Eurekea :)

      And thanks for the feedback. I'll put up some more use-cases on the website. Please reach out to me for further queries.Cheers!

        I feel like you're thinking of "running to get ahead" or to move forward ;) but yes I 100% agree with you. During quarantine I have been mega-uncreative because I haven't been out in the real world making experiences and thus finding new problems to solve. I think your project has come at the right time. I will definitely stay updated on it.

        Cheers.

          I meant that just to be alive in the makers market, you have to keep running - because everyone else is running :)

          Having been in the same 'mega-uncreative field' during this period, I can understand your self-plight.Dont worry, we are launching soon.
          Do register with your mail and I'll keep you posted on the udpates.

      Hey @anilkilic thanks for the feedback. I've seen many people are getting the same confusion -tbh I didn't expect this much unpopularity of Indian number formatting out here :) I should better use 250K+ everywhere.

      Also, could you share your experience with prodhunt in more detail -about how are you marketing it & how many people are actually reaching till funnel's end, etc? Maybe we can connect offline.
