Car data visualization 🚘

Hi there!

This is my first post. I'm going to talk about the project that I'm building for a "small" niche.

A little background story...

As a developer I love to tinker around with different topics and technologies. One day I discovered the world of the OBD-2 protocol and I saw that there where I couple of vendors selling the ELM327 Bluetooth adapters.

I tried some Apps like Torque to see the realtime data from my car's ECU. I was amazed how it worked. I like it a lot because I could see more in depth what was happening inside the car's motor.

I wondered if we could get enough data over time, maybe we could see if some part is going to fail or need a replacement.

And that's what I'm working on, a project to collect car data for car enthusiasts that want to visualize every important value over time.

What I have done so far

• Create native Android APP
• Dump data in background
• Send data to the backend
• Frontend for data visualization

What I want to achieve with this project is to give car enthusiast a good software tool that is simple to use and very cheap (you only need an Android phone).

When I launch the beta, I would love to collaborate and receive feedback to improve the project.
