CardWarden

Hey all, just shipped CardWarden to the App Store and wanted to share the story and ask for feedback.

The problem

My wife and I stack discounted grocery gift cards. In practice that meant:
- rescanning the same card onto two phones
- digging through chat for barcode screenshots
- occasionally double-spending because balances weren’t in sync
- ads covering the barcode at the worst possible moment (checkout)

After Stocard shut down, most alternatives were offline-only, ad-supported, or missing live household sync. Apple/Google Wallet help a bit, but they’re weak for arbitrary barcodes + family sharing + balance tracking.

What I built

CardWarden is a private family wallet for loyalty cards and gift cards:
- shared family pockets
- live barcode + balance sync across phones
- barcode scanning + gift card balance tracking
- offline checkout
- zero-knowledge / on-device encryption before upload

Basically: Stocard’s functionality, Bitwarden’s architecture. (If you haven't used them, Stocard is the go to app for managing loyalty cards, and Bitwarden is a really secure password manager based on zero knowledge server architecture)

Status

- iPhone: live on the App Store
- Android: beta still open while waiting for final approval on the Play Store
- Site: https://cardwarden.app

- Origin story: https://cardwarden.app/blog/why-i-built-cardwarden

What I’d love feedback on

1. Is “family live sync” the right lead, or should privacy/encryption lead?
2. For a household of 2–4, what’s the biggest reason you’d / wouldn’t switch from screenshots or Wallet?
3. Pricing instincts for encrypted cloud sync or family sharing? Current pricing can be found in https://cardwarden.app/pricing

Happy to answer anything — architecture, tech stack, etc.
