Hello everybody!
I finished to write this weekend a complete case study about my last open source side project, DevDash.
I try to cover everything from the idea to the launch, as well as the choices I made, the promotion and the project management.
I share my workflow, how I manage my time on side of my full time job, and many other tips.
My blog (and therefore the article) target more developers, but I think it could be useful for everybody, it's not technically heavy.
I hope this is helpful! Don't hesitate to give me any kind of feedback, improving is really important for me.
Thanks for sharing!
I like your approach, from a backend-developer, be on terminal is an huge plus and your project DevDash, fits this perfectly.
I think a way to promote and improve your project could be reach your target group: developer using highly terminal. You can start from this, in particular from some sub-reddit or vim community ?
Did you consider that in your search ?
You're welcome. Thanks for your feedback!
My target group is indeed developers using heavily the terminal. I thought about spreading the work in the Vim community, but they are pretty careful to speak only about Vim, especially on reddit, so I don't think I will bother them with that.
However, I posted on
/r/commandlineand/r/Terminal/as well. But now I think about it, I should extend my reach with shell users, zsh / bash sub-reddit maybe. There is also a subset (like for example myself). As developer on windows, I use a mix of terminal (conEmu) with IDE (Eclipse+Visual Studio code). A win could be find a way to explain how not only terminal-only dvelopers could benefit from your solution.
TLTR: a website, use cases, blogging, seo etc... :D
That's a very good point. Thanks for that! I miss some use cases indeed.
