CasterKit - A resource for podcasters

Last week I shared a post asking people, "What's your 'Podcasting Tech Stack'?" on here and on Reddit. I received a bunch of super helpful responses to get me started on my podcasting journey. It even helped me order a microphone (Blue Yeti) on Amazon, which should be arriving tomorrow. Now I can't wait to compare the audio quality between episode 1 & episode 2 of my new show.

Rather than learning all about the podcasting ecosystem by myself in a bubble, I want to share what I've learned the last couple of days so others who just getting started won't need to start at square one as well. This led me to the idea of creating an "open source" list of podcasting tools and services for others to use as an initial starting point.

With that, I present to you CasterKit, an ongoing resource for podcasters. My goal is for this to eventually become a go-to resource for people looking to discover new podcasting tools that will help them create and improve their podcasts!

I hope some of you find this list helpful, and please do not hesitate to open a pull request, or submit here, any product that you think should be added. In the meantime, I will also be working on adding more details/descriptions so it's easier to compare.

Until next time, I hope you have a great week!

@Dan - this is excellent. I've been podcasting for 10+ years, and not heard of some of the resources listed here. Thanks!

@schoon - Hey Dan, would appreciate if you could take a look at our product (podcastpage.io) and possibly add it to CasterKit, it'd be much appreciated!

Definitely! Just added it under the "marketing" section. I figured a page for your podcast could be considered a way to market it. Also, it's not as big of a group, so you'll stand-out a little. But let me know if you have a better section for it!

        Awesome! Thank you so much.
Really cool list of tools. Marketing is fine, although it can also fit the website hosting section, but no worries.

I'll definitely look into joining the Slack group, great work on that!

This is an awesome endeavour, Thank you @schoon. Can you please add the category "Podcast Discovery"
I am working on a product to be released this month that will help solve the discovery problem in the industry.

Yeah man, your site looks great. I'll definitely add that new section with your site in it.

If you're looking to meet some fellow podcast enthusiasts and get feedback as you build it, you should consider joining by podcasting Slack group as well -- CasterCommunity.com!

This is a great resource. Thanks for sharing this with everyone! And thank you for including Fusioncast.fm! Was pleasantly surprised to see it on the list, even though I haven't launched it yet. :)

    1. 2

That's how extensive my research was 😉

@mariordev Why was your twitter account suspended? Checked out your site.

      1. 1

Hi @GritCom, sorry for the late reply. Just came across your question. I actually don't know. I created the twitter account a while back, mainly to make sure I grab the handle. I didn't do anything real with the account yet, because I'm still in the early stages of Fusioncast. My guess is that one of their bots flagged it as suspicious because there's no profile picture, no tweets, nothing. So I'll have to contact them somehow and sort it out.
