SMS Text Messaging Providers - Who is best in 2019?

I have a habit of collecting SMS providers. I am in the UK though so this may not be the best advice for you in Canada.

I am NOT a fan of Twilio. They make things way more complex than they need to be and are quite expensive.

Nexmo are My Twilio alternative goto if you want an all in one solution with SMS and voice etc. etc.

I would recommend Textlocal if you want an SMS only solution as they have loads of really neat features such as being able to setup auto responses and even quizes through their web interface. Good pricing too.

ClockworkSMS however would be my recommendation for a purely SMS provider with a really simple API that is cheap and just works. No frills and sometimes exactly what we want :-)

Looking to be able to send SMS messages from a Rails app. Looking for feedback on SMS providers like Twilio. Sending SMS to USA and Canada. Priorities are low cost, reliability and ease of integration. What's everyones experience been?
