I’ve leaded one of the biggest open source project in history from 2013 to 2015 and it’s probably one of my best experience so far.
The main challenge you’ll face is to get traction from the dev community.
You need to focus on documentation to make sure contributors knows how to work with you.
Make sure to have a clear contribution guideline and strict rules.

my challenge is how to dedicate time to it because that time is lost revenue. that is why I applied for a OS grant. That money I can spend on marketing an UX (need to outsource it as I suck at design)
