Chase Fulfillment

In my last semester in college, my professor taught me something I'll never forget.

He said, "Don't chase money. I chased money for years and I ended up solving problems for douchebags.

"Also, don't chase passion. The world can't support that many DJs.

"Instead, chase fulfillment."

This quote has been the guide for my entire life and it has not once failed me.

I love finding a community like IndieHackers that is filled with people doing the same thing: chasing fulfillment.

I would challenge us all to take an honest look at what we are working on and ask, "Is it fulfilling?" I've been caught by money or passion many times. So far, fulfillment wins.
