Check out the landing page I created with Carrd 🎉

Hello there,

Feedback is welcomed for my new side project Blue Pencil. It's a proofreading community platform. Here is the link: www.blue-pencil.io

I wanted to keep it very simple and comprehensive. Same as my MVP.

Thanks so much in advance,

Olga

@Olga looks great and I like the concept. One suggestion would be to say exactly what you do in the first 1-2 lines. I like the line "Don’t let a few mistakes prevent you from success" but it doesn't tell me what you do. It takes me until the middle of step 2 in the "how it works" section to get it.

Maybe a subtitle in the header with "Get your writing proofread quickly. Eliminate mistakes and get helpful suggestions from other great writers."

    Goodluck ✌️

Oh, thanks so much! That is such a great piece of advice! I will make this change.

I would have enjoyed it if the whole thing was proofread. Meaning it was verbose and had errors and saw those errors fixed.

The http://www.hemingwayapp.com/ landing page does this.

    hi Olga,

cool landing page, I really like the scroll background effect.

    Few suggestions:

    • Remove the newsletter sign up (its a distraction)
    • The CTA - Join our club is slightly confusing, I would suggest - Submit my text now
    • Does't say how much it costs? could turn some people away

    best of luck!

    thanks

Actually I would keep the newsletter sign up. Put yourself in the shoes of someone discovering it for the first time. Chances are they won't have any text ready to submit right then and there but they might think "Oh, this looks cool. I'll have to come back later when I'm writing my next whatever.."

thats a good point, what about having a bookmark me function?

I have about 300 bookmarks in my browser. Do you know how many of them I've clicked on since I made them? About 7.

Newsletter signups have proven to be way more effective. If you can keep people engaged with relevant content not only will it lead to repeat visits to the website, but users will actually remember it. No bookmark needed.

I understand but thats how you are using bookmarks. I, myself, on the other hand have a very lean bookmark system which I revisit frequently.

But I do appreciate your feedback and its not worth over-engineering it.

            thanks

@wassembashir & @craftworkgames Thanks so much for your suggestions!
I will keep the newsletter sign up exactly for the reason you said @craftworkgames.
I will try to make it more integrated and not like out of left field

To be honest, I think you should just run with what you've got. After testing the water for a while you can try different things and see if it moves the needle.
