Fascinating:
Chekhov’s gun (Russian: Чеховское ружьё) is a dramatic principle that states that every element in a story must be necessary, and irrelevant elements should be removed.
Elements should not appear to make “false promises” by never coming into play. The statement is recorded in letters by Anton Chekhov several times, with some variation:
A few friends of mine were talking about “Chekhov’s Gun” and the parallel principle(s) when it comes to product design & development; essentially, if you’re going to spend the time building (or adding) a feature then you must make sure that it is absolutely necessary, otherwise it might be understood as a “false promise,” sometimes intentional but more often unintentional.
Serious things to marinate on as we put together our (rewritten) platform.
I like your design concept. I want to make the similar design for my red dot reviewsblog that hosted on WordPress.
oh, cool.
Is design a part of "necessary features"? Because, if you check Logology home page you'll see the moving circles. 80% of ppl love them & the other 20% hate them. They are totally unnecessary but they do help a LOT to be memorizable.
I hesitate to spend some time on building it, but, now, I'm pretty I would have been a mistake to not having these circles.
Sometimes, useless stuff is a core feature :D
(Also, I agree with you, most of the time you should not ship something that your customers don't cry for)
design is very personal. this is why i'm still very much talking about it publicly... still trying to learn how to do this better!
+1!
Can't help myself but - the socom rounds aren't that great. Better yet, equip the m16 grenadier barrel and a standard 60 round mag.
i actually don't know anything about guns. so... are you talking about my random
stock imagethat i found up there?are you building anything in that space? sounds like you know your shit!
No haha I wish. This is from cod warzone. Try it out its pretty fun.
