Choosing a domain name. .co, .app etc

Hey, so I'm currently in the process of developing my MVP. However, I keep referring back to my domain name. I currently own 'mydomain.co'. The '.com' domain is for sale, but it's far too expensive. Most of the other domains are available .app etc.

Due to the nature of the site and being a SaaS web app, every account will have access to the site via 'name.mydomain.co'. However, if later on, I changed the domain to .com

Do you think this will cause any problems? Am I overlooking this and should be happy with the .co domain? I don't want it to come back at me later on if the .com was purchased by someone else?

I think you'll be fine, you can always do some DNS stuff down the road if you need to point traffic from the .co domains to .com domains. Lots of great products and apps run on .co domains also, so if that domain is out of reach it's not the end of the world!
