Circle + Ghost Integration?

I'd like to use Ghost (for the newsletter features) + Circle.so (for the community)

Anyone know if there's a way to integrate these 2 platforms together ?

I haven't seen any integration options on either platform but maybe there's a way to somehow connect them ?

Ghost members work in Integromat. For Circle I've also integrated the API for custom integration with Integromat. So these two definitely work together.

Do get in touch on Twitter or Email so I can know your case better :)

@momoko thanks for the help. Looks like Ghost can connect to Circle via Zapier so that might solve the problem I thought I would have (https://zapier.com/apps/circle/integrations/ghost)

Yes but they won't be able to log in with Ghost, assuming you wanted to use Ghost's membership feature. If you just want to collect email addresses from Circle you can definitely do that with Zapier.

Have used Ghost + Circle integration in the past via Zapier.

I hosted my Ghost installation at members.coulf.com and its Circle installed at community.coulf.com.

It works when I receive a payment from Ghost they get invited into the community with Zapier. When the membership is finished/not renewed they'll be removed from both Circle and Ghost. It was quite a smooth process but yes, they have to manage two separate accounts.

@momoko thanks. Do you mind sharing what stack/tools you went with for your blog and community?

I'm using Gatsby and Firebase. I send emails with ConvertKit, which is also what I use for my newsletter.

One issue is making gated content with Gatsby is a real pain if you care about preventing it from being accessed with JS disabled, but I ended up just posting most of the gated content inside Circle directly. Works good enough!

Thanks for the tag, @rosiesherry. I considered Ghost for the complementary website, but at the time the hosted option that had custom OAuth was only available in "Beta" and on the Enterprise plan.

So I ended up doing something custom with Firebase and a custom OAuth provider.

It's also worth mentioning that the price with Circle for Custom OAuth is $199/mo, plus whatever you pay Ghost assuming you're using the hosted version.

@momoko has done some nice integrations for her blogging community, not with Ghost, but maybe she has some insights into this?

Another big fan of Circle is @jayclouse
