Clannect Is Getting Voice Chat and Screen Sharing

We're working on another major step for Clannect:

Voice chat and screen sharing are coming to the platform.

Until now, Clannect has primarily focused on connecting gamers through social content, profiles, progression, communities, and gaming-focused experiences.

But gaming isn't just about what you see.

It's also about who you're playing with and how you communicate while you're playing.

That's where voice chat and screen sharing come in.

More Than Just Another Communication Feature

At first glance, voice chat might seem like a standard feature for a gaming platform.

For us, it's more than that.

We're trying to make Clannect a place where gamers can actually spend time together, rather than simply interact through posts and comments.

Imagine opening Clannect and joining a voice conversation with your friends.

You could be browsing the feed while talking.

You could discuss a game you're playing.

You could help someone solve a problem.

You could meet other players through a community.

Or you could simply hang out.

The platform becomes less about consuming content and more about being present with other people.

Screen Sharing Opens Even More Possibilities

Screen sharing makes this even more interesting.

A gamer could share their gameplay with friends.

A developer could show a work-in-progress project.

Someone could demonstrate how they solved something in a game.

A community could watch someone play together.

A friend could help troubleshoot a problem by looking at the screen directly.

It creates another layer of interaction between users.

Instead of saying:

"Look at this."

You can simply show it.

Moving Toward Real-Time Social

One of the things we're exploring with Clannect is the transition from asynchronous social interaction to more real-time experiences.

Posts are asynchronous.

Comments are asynchronous.

Feeds are asynchronous.

Voice and screen sharing introduce presence.

You're not just seeing what someone did.

You're there with them.

That distinction could become increasingly important as Clannect evolves.

How This Fits Into the Bigger Vision

Our long-term goal isn't to build another Discord clone.

Voice chat and screen sharing aren't the destination.

They're another layer in the ecosystem we're building.

We want Clannect to eventually bring together:

Social interaction.

Gaming.

Communities.

Progression.

Real-time communication.

Discovery.

Competition.

And eventually, developer-created experiences and games.

The more of these pieces we connect, the less Clannect feels like a collection of separate features and the more it starts feeling like an actual gaming environment.

We're Still Early

These features are still being developed, so there's a lot left to figure out.

Performance.

Privacy.

Moderation.

Permissions.

UX.

Infrastructure.

All of these matter, especially when building real-time communication into a social platform.

But we're excited about the possibilities.

Because ultimately, we don't want Clannect to be somewhere gamers only scroll through.

We want it to become somewhere gamers hang out.

Voice chat and screen sharing are another step toward that.

We're building a more connected Clannect. 🎮
