Hi!
My name is Tom and this is my first post here🙃
For the last months I've been working on Cluee - a toolbox for all the freelancers to help them organize their work and finance. As there are many such apps on the market, I wanted for mine to be fun, beautiful and easy to use. 💖
So, this MVP took me this few months to complete, including all the design and coding stuff (in fact mainly using Webflow, Bubble and other no-code stack).
The key features are:
What do you think of the landing page and what suggestions do you have on the product features? You can sign up and use it for free, as it's on public beta right now.
Here's the landing page and after you put your e-mail you can sign up: https://cluee.app/?r=indie (the reflink is to give you some rewards in the future after launching payments - if you want)
I am also interested what could convince you from moving from the tools you currently use to a new tool like Cluee.app?
For the community - happy to share thoughts and experiences about building product with no-code (especially Bubble)! 💪
Hey Tom, I like the look of the site, it's clean and pretty clear what you offer. Perhaps some About Us and Contact details though (more than just a mailto link)? Something to make it feel like there's a passionate entrepreneur behind this, not just a faceless service.
I'm not sure if the video adds any value though on the site. It would be useful offsite in other social posts, etc as an intro to drive people to the site. But once on the site, I'd want to perhaps see a video that actually guided me through features of the actual service.
Overall I wonder if mixing project time management with finance/payments is an odd combo of services? It feels like a tool you have built for yourself because you needed it, but what is the market for this mix of products in a single platform, versus the existing dedicated services already out there?
I could very well be wrong, but there are a lot of well known competing services that cover each of your areas vey well, so is this going to be a tough sell? I hope not, and hope you smash it 😊
Thank you for feedback!
😊 Hope it was helpful. I wish you well with it!!
Hey Tom, congrats with the launch!
A fellow indie hacker and a long-term freelancer here. Hope my feedback gives you some value.
I don't see pricing anywhere on the page. And your C2A "Get started for free" suggests it's free to start but then I'll have to pay. Those two together are a big NO. Either it's really free and you have to leave absolutely no questions about it, or it's not free (which is fine!) so you need to be clear about pricing.
One of the first things you mention is I can track time with Cluee but then there's nothing about it. It's a huge deal, most freelancers probably already use software to track their billable hours. So you need to be clear about if you are offering an alternative, and if you are, how is it better.
I'd add key benefits as the 2nd section right after the video. People are lazy. Tell me, how does Cluee help me? Do I get to save time? Great. Money? even better. You'd want to put those benefits right in the visitors face so that there's no denying it 😃
Also consider that many freelancers, together with direct clients, are also on one or more freelancer platforms (Upwork, Fiverr etc). That means there's already enough chaos going on in there for them to care.
For example, when you're on Upwork, you have to use their time tracker. And you don't care about invoices (it's all automated), but then, you don't have a nice way to see that money together with other income streams.
I'd expect this kind of chaos to exist in most freelancers lives. That's good, use it to your advantage. You are betting on all-in-one, but that pushes me away if I have to use Upwork's time tracker. If I am still your target audience, I need some reassurance.
Good luck with the product!
As a freelancer myself, I have thought about creating products for freelancers and I think you are doing one very right thing: you are picking already established freelancers as your target audience. Freelancers who are just getting started don't need such tools. Only thing they need help is getting clients 😀
If you'd like to roast me back, here's my recent landing page: https://www.indiehackers.com/post/roast-my-landing-page-i-will-roast-yours-6b35f5f999
Thanks I really appreciate your feedback. I'll also take a look at your landing! :)
Hey Tom, would love to help with my opinion as I'm a freelance copywriter, but unfortunately the link redirects me to a 404 page? https://www.cluee.app/r=indie
OMG I checked the links, but misspelled the first one 🤦♂️SORRY! The proper link is https://cluee.app/?r=indie
Hahah, you're good, don't worry! Just wanted to let you know so you can get more info from other indie hackers. :D
Now that I can see it, Cluee looks awesome! I mean, I'm using a literal spreadsheet right now to track invoices sent/invoices paid for day-to-day ops so I've just signed up. 😂
In terms of your landing page, a few suggestions:
*Can you put your CTA in more places on your page? There's one in the hero, and one in "Is Cluee a right choice for me?" but I'm not seeing any after that. It'd be good to place it below the final section, at least.
*Otherwise, I love your copy so much! There's a lot of personality in there and I love the little asterisk explanation in the hero section. :))
*The image below the hero section has a play button but it's not a video as far as I can tell (nothing happens when I click it) - that might be a bit confusing.
*Do you have any testimonials from freelancers? Those would be great to have on your page.
*"All-in-one tool" explanation - definitely address the pain point of having too many tools in the stack. e.g. a lot of freelancers use Freshbooks, Asana, etc. all those tools. You replace them (and reduce costs). It's worth mentioning for sure!
*It'd be good to expand on your 'data insights' feature - I'd love to learn more about how that works on the landing page. It could be a major differentiator! For example, if Cluee shows me that my biggest (unbilled) time-waster is consultation calls, that'd allow me to adjust my rate quoted to clients.
*Finally, based on all those things you offer, I'd definitely say you could phrase your UVP in the hero (and in general) as something like: "Your one-stop-shop for operating a profitable freelance business." because it really is!
Can't wait to try Cluee! :D I hope these suggestions helped!
Also, your onboarding flow is amazing!
Thanks 🤩 The video at the landing page should also work now - you can check it.
It's working! I love it - very clean, friendly, and explains what Cluee does. :D Great work!
