I've created a new project
I’m building solo, and like most of you, I wear every hat — product, marketing, ops... and then there’s legal.
Honestly? Legal used to scare the hell out of me.
I wasn’t trying to do anything shady — I just didn’t want to mess up something simple and have it cost me everything.
So I built Codex — a kind of AI legal co-founder that actually looks out for me while I build.
What Codex Does
Codex is more than a chatbot. It listens like a lawyer. Think:
I say: “I marked my employees as investments for tax reasons.”
Codex says: “Hold up. That’s a huge red flag. Here’s why — and here’s how to fix it.”
Other stuff it helps with:
Drafts contracts, NDAs, and disclaimers on the fly
Warns you if you’re about to make a risky business move
Understands your industry and updates its advice as you build
Detects legal risks even if you didn’t ask about them
🛠️ Why I'm Building This
I kept seeing the same pattern:
People build great products, get some traction — then lose it all to a legal blind spot.
So instead of hiring a lawyer I couldn’t afford, I trained an LLM on over 1,000 real business scenarios — from edge-case tax write-offs to startup defamation issues to local compliance quirks. Even threw in case law and city-level rules.
Now I’ve got an AI that has my back — and I want to make it available to other solo builders too.
🔍 What I Need
If you're:
Running solo or bootstrapped
Tired of Googling “Do I need a contract for this?”
Worried you’re missing something legal that could bite you later...
I'd love your feedback.
🧪 Want to test it early? Drop a comment or DM me.
I’m shipping fast and trying to make Codex the kind of legal safety net every indie founder deserves.
Cheers,
Jonah Holmes
