Cold email - still a highly effective tactic!

Hey hackers, I recently launched the beta of my project scoping and pricing tool ScopeConcierge (http://scopeconcierge.com/).

I’m pretty much trying anything and everything to get the first users in the door and one thing has worked far better than others.

My product is geared toward small agencies and freelancers. I have tried a ton of channels (Facebook communities, commenting on Reddit and other forms, reaching out to influencers on YouTube, targeted Tweets, etc), and by far the most effective channel has been cold email outreach (via apollo).

Apollo is a great tool that basically helps you both prospect potential leads and then send them automated sequences. For me the prospecting alone was worth the hundred dollars per month. I was able to create a massive list of like 1000 agencies (1-20 employees, offer website design, d amount of revenue, etc). Then I just crafted a very simple email sequence and so far it has yielded some exceptional results.

Just wanted to give everyone the reminder not to skip traditional, tried and true tactics!

Let me know if you want more specifics on how I executed

    Thanks for sharing!

Cold emails to start up growth is what exercising is to weight loss. It works! People don’t do it because it’s hard.

Now gotta stop eating potato chips and write some cold emails 😂

LMAO damn right. Doing the grind it out work, tight there. Better than cold calls I suppose.

hey @shane_098, congrats on the launch!

I've created this tool that would recommend the most relevant growth strategies out from my database, GrowthHunt.co, based on a few questions asked.

If you've got the time, do try it out and let me know what you think about it.

    Cheers!
