Cold outreach didn’t work for me – here’s what actually helped me get early user interviews as a Product Manager

As a product manager with no big social following or access to big communities, I have been struggling in finding users to interview for products I lead. I have seen people say Reddit + Linkedin are amazing for early user interviews, but due to the fact that I am not very active - now trying to be - on Reddit, usually, my comments get deleted instantly, and on LinkedIn, I hardly get engagement on my posts.
After lots of try and error, here is exactly what actually helped me in case it help you as well:
1- I went to the personal route - I reached our to WhatsApp communities - especially the ones built around culture and religion - where people are usually willing to help just because they wanted to.
2- I shared something visual - demo or a video - instead of explaining too much
3- I reached to my close personal network and I made it 100% clear that this is a message asking for your help or favor. What I noticed is that, many people don't think that their help can make a big difference for you, so I made sure to make it clear that i will appreciate their help
4- after I talk with any user, for each person, I always ask:
How can I help you in return. If there is nothing in mind at the moment of the discussion, I just send a list of things I know I can help with in case that person needed me in the future
I ask if s/he can introduce me to two other people or give a warm intro - but only after the discussion.
I know this is not scalable, but it helped me get the few first conversations. I hope it helps.
