Hello folks,
Here I am again. I'm planning to launch my site very soon but wanted to post here first since you are such an amazing community that helped me in so many ways :)
So I am pleased to introduce you collabomate.org, the simplest way to find a partner to collaborate on your creative projects.
The idea is to build a place where people can post projects and find other creative folks that can be interested to work together. When I say creative people I'm saying all kinds of creative workers: musician, visual artists, developers, filmmakers, writers, etc, etc. Example of projects: producer searching for a rapper, writer searching for a designer, filmmaker seeking for a musician, game developer searching for an artist, etc)
This can or cannot be paid work, but it's up to the participants to negotiate that (I'm really not interested to be the man in the middle here).
This is an old idea I had since I was in college, but never had the time and motivation to actually finish (started and stopped a few times). So I hope I can at least be able to launch it and put this idea in the world. If not successfully, at least I can move to something else.
I appreciate any feedback!
Thank you,
Can't say if this is actually useful or not, but here are a few things I've noticed:
Hey, thanks for the feedback!
Yes, the design definitely needs a lot of adjustments. I'll probably do that in the next days.
The blank search result is also a good point. It's easy to put a message there.
Thanks!
I am doing the exact same thing for my final project in my boot camp. I am however focusing on collaborative projects for coders. I would suggest that you beef it up a bit more. Pull an api of professions so your list isn't so dry under categories. It throws off a bit ux wise because right below under your favorites you have the exact same list. there should definitely be an explanation of what service your site provides. i dont feel compelled to engage in the site at this stage. it would be interesting to see how this project shapes out.
