Sales is hard. If it were easy everyone would be rich.
I have been in B2B sales my whole career and it is difficult. You need to know how to prospect, how to pitch, how to negotiate, pricing, upselling, cross-selling aahhh even typing that was driving me insane. I suppose I should insert my social proof here so you know I'm not a weirdo. I have been in sales for 10 years. I have sold double glazing to households by cold-calling (yes, I know, I was one of those guys). I have sold marketing services to Fortune 100 companies and I have sold apartments to business travellers at HSBC and Barclays. I founded harris&wilde and now sell video marketing services. BUT enough about me.
So sales is hard. However, having conversations with your ideal customers does not need to be difficult, and it isn't. Rejoice the lord.
LinkedIn is not a social media platform. It's either a CV or a sales tool. It is literally a database of all of your ideal customers, and it's free.
Cold outreach gets a bad rep. But it works. And if you are serious about your product/service then you should be using LinkedIn as a sales tool every single day.
We are living in the greatest sales era to have ever existed. You can send a DM to the CTO of T-Mobile, they will read it and they will reply if you have something they want. The chances of you speaking with the CTO of a Fortune100 company 15 years ago, 30 years ago, 70 years ago was close to impossible. Now you can just slide in their DMs.
But cold outreach is hard, monotonous and long.
Shoot your URL, a 1-line about your business and 1-line about who your ideal customer is and I will help you write your first cold outreach message.
No idea if this will get any comments or interest at all, but I'll hang around for a couple of hours to respond to anybody that wants it. I'll nip in and out over the next couple of days to respond to any comments.
Or shoot me a tweet @MrJakeHarris with the same info and i'll reply anytime.
