Community for people committing to trying something new for an entire month

How it might work: define whatever it is you want to try and make a commitment to yourself and the community to do that thing for a full month.

Maybe you can add progress updates, share what you've learned, get support when you're struggling, connect with others trying that same thing, draw inspiration from others trying new things, etc.

Examples:

-play the guitar for 30mins/day
-get 10K steps everyday
-go vegan
-learn how to code
-work on your side hustle that you've been neglecting ;)

I've always found that public declarations are helpful to me when setting a goal but sometimes I don't want to post that sort of thing to my personal social channels. I've also found that 1 month is long enough to start developing a new habit but also short enough to be obtainable - it's just one month!

Thoughts/feedback? If there's enough interest I might build out a landing page

This idea piqued my interest. I did some searching and found plenty of articles, blog posts, and youtube videos but no community. There would need to be a real good or unique hook for the accountability part to make fun and effective. Also, what are you thinking long term for monetization?

You would think something like this would exist right? Not saying it doesn’t, by my searching also came up empty. I agree with you on the accountability piece. Honestly I hadn’t thought too hard around monetization, but there are a ton of ways to monetize communities these days. The easiest being ads - figured if the whole premise of the site is to try new things for 30 days, there might be companies who would be willing to offer 1 month free trials. Pull in ad rev from the placements but also affiliate pay from signups.

Yep, good point on the advertising model. If you build enough traffic it will attract the interest of online course makers, fitness classes, etc.

Ya I think so too! Apparently you and I are the only ones who find it to be somewhat of an interesting idea though 😂 If I find the time and the validation, I'll let you know!

Also, Philly guy! My business partner at Proxii is a UPenn grad and I used to work a bit in Philly - used to stay in Rittenhouse square. Good times.
