Community fundraising tool for creators, students and companies that don't want to sell equity.

Hey folks,
David Vargas (@dvargas92495) and me, Oliver Sauter (@blackforestboi) are building an automated fundraising tool for creators, indie hackers, students and companies who want to stay self-owned don't want to sell equity.

With our tool you'll be able to can create, distribute and sign income sharing agreements (Lambda School model) & loan contracts, automate payouts to investors and manage update communications with them.
If you need 10-200k capital to get started and have a community, friends and family believing in you, and you want to give back to them - this may be the tool for you.

There are already tools like WeFunder.com, PartyRound.com or Fairmint.co who do similar things. Those have either geographical limitations and/or focus on helping you to raise equity-based capital - which is not for everyone.
Not everyone wants to grow under pressure or wants to give back profits indefinitely - especially if you are and student or individual creator just getting started.

We see a gap in the market of types of capital that do not require you to have exponential growth. ICOs want you to build an ecosystem, equity wants you to dominate the market.
What about if you just want to build an earnest, solid, revenue driven (indie) business, start you education, retrain into another field or want to become a self-owned/cooperative company?

The process we want to automate we did analogue before. For memex.garden I raised 200k in angel investment from 10 investors (and 250k in grants), and we still own all our equity. David got investors commit $20k with an Income Sharing Agreement for him to work on his open source projects, one of them being the popular RoamResearch.com extension library RoamJS. He was able to end the monthly payments already after 8 months with his total debt not $60k but just $40k. Now he's making between $5-8k per month!

With our philosophies on capping profits and open-source development, it was difficult and cumbersome to raise money for both of our projects, especially from classic investors. We have communities of people who would like to invest $100-1000, but the paperwork to raise funding from 100+ people and handle payout would have easily been a half-time job. We both managed to raise money from angels that were aligned with our philosophy, but it was a painful, long and bureaucratic process. We would have loved to raise from our community in a way that rewards them too but without entering the old rat race of uncapped returns and growth-at-all costs.

What I can offer:
- Help and feedback with product prioritisation & speccing
- How to raise funds without VC money through grants and angel investments
- How to communicate sharply
- Insights about experiences with co-living communities, conflict resolution, emotional development like learning how to cry or knowledge management processes.

What we need:
- A product designer who wants to join the founding team in part or full-time. We have a visually and spec-wise simple prototype almost ready to show to the community but we are aware that it needs to look and feel great for people to be able to use and trust it. We would like to find someone to work with on this product that has both a strong passion for the 'why' behind our idea and a track record of building beautiful (SaaS) application.
- A lawyer working with ISAs. For now we use a contracts that have already been vetted by a lawyer but we will need ongoing support to understand the legal questions of contract adaptations and difference in jurisdictions better. We want to work closely with someone in the long term.

Hope to hear from all of you more often in the next months and years and to the great relationship I am sure will form here.

Feel free to get in touch with me if you have a need for what we build or want to join us, or just have questions. I certainly would love to talk to you ✌🏽
