Competing with Freemium

I'm looking for input or examples from fellow Indie hackers on what strategies worked best competing with a competitor which has a freemium product.

    This depends entirely on things like:

    • what problem you're solving
    • whether or not customers like your product
    • how your solution works compared to the competition
    • how many people who have this problem are using a competing solution vs not
    • the current state of your user acquisition strategies
