Composable - Easily create your own isometric vector artwork
Hey IH. I'm a developer who started out in graphic design. I noticed a lot of websites using illustrations from libraries like Humaaans and Undraw, and thought it would be cool to have a website where you can compose images yourself in the browser from a library of smaller elements. I chose isometric images because they compose nicely and are fun to create.
I started building Composable in February while working a full time job. I also welcomed my first child into the world in July, so it's been tricky finding the time to focus on it since then, but the first version is now live and I'd love to get your feedback on it.
I do all the illustrations myself, and will need hundreds more before it is really useful to anyone, so I have a long way to go. But I'm excited to start getting people using it and seeing whether it's worthwhile continuing with. Cheers!
I love this so much. It reminds me of a game called "Habbo" which was really popular when I was a kid.
One idea, add the ability to zoom in and out in the canvas.

Maybe adding a collection/marketplace of examples?
Yeah for sure. One of my ideas for the future is to have a much larger collection of examples that the user can use as a starting point. So clicking the image would add it to the canvas and they could modify it as they wish before downloading it.

It's getting a bit boring nowadays when I visit websites and see all the same illustrations being used all over but then again since it's free, easy and nice, couldn't complain much. I got mine from opendoodles.com and craftwork.design.

Hey, this is really cool! I love the simplicity. It's incredible that you did all of the illustrations yourself.
I think that with a larger library of illustrations and some more tools in the design editor like a layer manager and alignment tools, it could be really useful. You could also allow users to upload their own illustrations, tag them, and be able to search through them. You could possibly try to turn it into a community thing around the editor so that it's not all on you to create the illustrations. If you're thinking about monetizing this sort of thing you could have a free tier and then paid sets of illustrations.
I forget where I saw it, but there was some quote along the lines of "good software enables people to do magic". In other words, I would guess there are people out there who wish they could build these types of illustrations with a vector tool but feel intimidated by those. Your tool would allow them to build these types of illustrations in a much simpler interface. Hence, allowing them to do magic.
