Considering taking a 6 month break from the daily hustle to build a game, anyone been in a similar boat?

Hey all, I'm at the point where I'm not burnt out from working on my own business but I'm kind of tired of doing it.
I'm an ex game developer and I've always been tempted to go back and develop another game one day and show my colours through experimental design and development.

I expect the game to bring in $0 revenue but I feel like it will be a great creative outlet before I have even less time in future.

Has anyone been in a similar boat? It doesn't have to be game development but maybe you took up a hobby you've always been curious about and finally decided to pursue it for a brief period?

Thanks all!

Life's too short to not go after what you want.

It's refreshing to hear this same line of advice, thanks. :)

I quit my job after 13 years of comfortable 9-5. I planned a few months break, but it's been 9 months already. I'm working on two apps/games, struggling to find a good way to monetize them :)

Nice! Bold move to make! My website currently tries to help game devs learn about marketing for their games so maybe take a look and see if there's anything of use to you there. :)

I recently took a two month break from my app over the holidays. I was in the same position where I wasn’t burnt out but could see the writing on the wall.

In my experience trying to get back into a project after a long break was difficult but once I did I was able to start building with a renewed purpose. It was the best thing I could have done.

This is an awesome insight, hopefully I get similar results to this!
