I'll say it as it is:
Content marketing ROI is hard to track.
It really is. A couple days ago, I had a potential client hit me up inquiring about my services.
After our conversation, I asked... "Out of curiosity, how did you hear about me?"
(btw, this is one way to track how many of your customers come from content)
He goes "My colleague told me about you."
Now I'm sure I have never had any conversation with anyone at his company.
But here's what I can tell you... I do no other marketing other than content marketing.
Besides, I closely monitor my visitors' interaction with my blog content and, lately, I've been seeing that someone referred from Skype has been consuming my content for a few days now.
Since this client mentioned his colleague told him about my business, he (the colleague) probably shared my content at work using Skype.
I know I didn't share the content on Skype, so it's mostly that someone shared my content at work using Skype.
Look, keep churning out helpful content.
You may not 100% be able to quantify its results.
But if it's really helpful, it's attracting customers to your business. ✌️
Hi Victor, thanks for sharing your experience. Yes content marketing ROI is hard to track but still well researched content ranks ( Content with proper keyword ranks but still this is hard as well) we can gain audience many not be possible immediately but in long run it is possible. (btw Is there any other channel i can leverage my content promotion, already doing it in quora, linkedin)
Hi Viktor. Thanks so much for sharing this.
I'm currently working on a content marketing strategy and was stressing on how it's not really a direct way of increasing conversion rate and that it won't really be effective.
Also wanted to ask you, do you have any suggestions on what channels I can leverage for my content promotion? I work for an eCommerce hosting company and our target audience is usually businesses.
I narrowed down on LinkedIn, Quora, etc but I'm looking for more suggestions.

Sorry for the late response, Jas.
Tbh, many B2B and SaaS businesses struggle with doing content marketing without seeing results. But there are several others who are in it for the long haul. They understand it'd take months to start seeing any significant value and they're okay with it.
But I settle with those who understand its value, even when the results aren't visible yet.
