Cookie consent walls and scrolling/navigation auto consent are non-compliant
GDPR guidelines were updated with some clarifications stating that consent walls and scrolling/navigating auto consent are non-compliant.
I don't like consent walls - their UX is intentionally made annoying and hard to customise user preferences which essentially results in more users just accepting everything in order to see the content.
On the other hand is the automatic consent when a visitor scrolls or navigates in the website. I liked this approach since the consent is unobtrusive and the user is still informed about the policies.
The bad thing is that those clarifications basically make it impossible to get analytics for your userbase or obtain a heatmap since the consent should be explicit and in an unobtrusive manner resulting in users not noting it.
What are your opinions?
I would say that these new guidelines don't make it impossible to get consent. Users will still notice your cookie widget and I believe more people that you think will consent if you make it a genuine choice.

I know these regulations are well-intentioned but I find them very frustrating both from a business and consumer perspective.
As a consumer, cookie consent banners are incredibly annoying. I eventually found this Chrome extension which has made my browsing experience so much better:
