CourseLit is an open source LMS, an alternative to Podia, Teachable etc. Does the landing page convey product's value?

If I can be candid redo the landing page completely. It looks like it is the default material UI theme.

Also the Web app needs work.

The market expects a high level of design these days (but tools like Tailwind UI allow you to do that).

I'm always excited to see new open source projects. A few notes:

• The screenshot is 492 kB - I would switch that to a jpg and try to get the file size below 100 kB.
• The get started page doesn't have a logo so it felt a little jarring to come to a page that just asks for email. I'd recommend adding your logo to that page and also some text to reinforce what people are signing up for to make them feel comfortable giving you their email.
• I think actually naming your competitors would help better position what the product does. I'm a big fan of Plausible and the approach they've taken to contrast themselves with Google Analytics. I'd recommend reading some of their posts here on IndieHackers to see how they are handling positioning.
• The design feels like very old Bootstrap (not sure if that is what you are using or something else). There are a lot of great, open source designs out there these days. One example is https://tabler.io/ - I'd recommend updating the design to use a more modern look.

One final note, a lot of my suggestions are around improving the landing page but I think the most important task when launching a project is to find users. If you are trying to determine whether you should make any of the changes I listed above or try to find users, I'd recommend focusing on finding users.

Users (who care about functionality over looks) won't mind the issues above if you are solving their problem and they can give you advice on ways to position your product better.

I have tried to incorporate most of your inputs in my new design. Hope it is more effective now.

Some quick thoughts:

• I'd consider focusing the title just on one thing e.g. courses
• Before jumping into features I'd outline the main benefits of using your solution over the competitors E.g. You mention open source & no-code but don't really sell the advantages
