Due to COVID-19 restaurants have a problem using paper menus. They have started using QR code-based menus. There are a few startups that do that. Their pricing is around $5-$10 per month for a QR code hosting. I have already made a website that's easy to use and only charges for $1 per month and offers unlimited QR generation.
Hey FR92,
I actually started working on this exact idea just over a month ago!
I've built quite the QR code generation feature, but I also include a super simple digital drag and drop menu builder for the restaurant/cafe to use (because who wants to have to update a pdf everytime?)
I've ran out of steam with the project recently but my concept was to offer the initial menu qr code hosting for free
But over time build up a database of menus, and provide the first service where people could search for a specific meal/dish in a particular area ie. "show me all the cafes serving eggs benedict in area X"
The following on from this was also to enhance dietary information, so you could tell which cafes/restaurants had options for vegetarian, coeliac etc..
Then lastly, another option would be to have a paid offering to integrate with payment and ordering systems, offer advanced customer analytics, gather feedback etc.. List goes on and on in my head!
As I said I started building a lot of this, but I've ran out of steam/got sidetracked, maybe we've an opportunity to help each other out with this?
Hmm what would cause restaurants to pay for your service over using a free QR code generator such as This one
