COVID Oneliners

Hi! I've had some small ideas related to the ongoing situation and wanted to share in oneliner format!

  • Dashboard for categorization and private discussion of emergency PSAs, that can be easily broadcasted to wider audience via e.g. Twitter
  • App to constrain the number of customers in a store, by showing the employee at the entrance the number of customers inside and a "+1" button and the employee at the exit a "-1" button

    1. For who is this? What problem does it solve?
    2. Even if you track the people coming in and there's a barrier that people queue behind, I think everyone would rather get the shopping over with rather than wait in queue with coughing people. What probleb does this solve exactly?

      1. Especially in countries where official communication is lacking, most information comes through social media or specific groups in Telegram or similar services. Telegram groups actually work quite nicely, but the issue is the massive influx of information half of which is irrelevant to most people (information about specific areas being quarantined and so on). This dashboard for people maintaining the semi-official groups would allow them to for instance broadcast information to a public account specific to the area or the function, increasing signal to noise ratio.
      2. Just something inspired by a picture I saw from Costco, where they limit the number of people inside the store and I don't know how do they actively track the quantity of people inside the store at the moment. But I agree, making people wait outside in groups may cause more problems than it solves.

      The second point actually gave me a new idea: a virtual queueing application, where you need to scan a QR code at the entrance prompting the app to then show you when you're allowed to enter the store. The waiting time can be spent socially distancing yourself. I'm not sure if such solution exists in Western countries, but at least in Asia restaurants have used similar technology.
