Created my first online course. I have 0 people on my email list. 0 audience. And yet, I'm still celebrating with chinese food + a bourbon.

THE COURSE:
Viva Voce Video - where I teach you how to look + sound better on video.

WHAT I LEARNED:

  1. FINDING A PLATFORM TO HOST YOUR COURSE IS HARDER THAN IT SHOULD BE.
I tried every platform out there (Thinkific, Teachable, almost fell into the Kajabi extortion trap, Podia, etc) - and the usability of all of them was harder than it needed to be.
And the design available on the platforms?...😖
I even tried to hack it together on my website host, Wix.
    No dice.

And then a friend recommended GumRoad to me.
GumRoad?!...
I was so frustrated at this point - fukkit!

And low & behold, GumRoad was the winner.
I didn't even know I COULD host my video course on there!

  1. NEXT TIME I DO THIS, THIS NEEDS TO BE A 2-WEEK SPRINT
This took me well over 2 months to complete because I was doing a little bit here, a little bit there...

Bad call on my part.
Fuq the marathon. This is a sprint to the finish.

I have another online course to do - in a completely different niche - and I'm gonna have that sucker done in a week!!

3.GIRL, BUILD YOUR EMAIL LIST.
'nuff said.

But again - it's done!
Now it's time to PROMOTE, PROMOTE, PROMOTE!
This is gonna be the fun (marathon) part. 😏

    Hi Gigi,

You crushed it! I love how hard you are on yourself on number two. Best of luck growing your audience. Your spirit on the website is apparent and there is no way you don't get customers!

THANK YOU! Yeah, no one's harder on themselves than you, right?
And I'm glad my website is up to snuff.
It sure as hell went through enough transitions - lol!

Love the energy Gigi. There are a lot of channels to promote an online course. Could be very useful to video creators.

      Oh for sure!
Even though I should've done this before, I need to create multiple avatars and promote it specifically to them & their needs.
Might even make a FB/IG/Pinterest ad.
Then after that, it's about making good enough content so people WANT to search out what I'm about find the course for themselves.
