Nice devlog, always interesting to see how people approach explainer videos while building in public.
One thing that usually becomes clear after a few iterations is that the biggest impact doesn’t come from the visuals, but from how clearly the core use case is communicated. Especially for SaaS, if the viewer doesn’t understand the value quickly, the video won’t move the needle much.
A lot of founders start with a “feature explanation”, but the videos that tend to perform better are the ones structured around a single core problem and how the product solves it.
It’s also interesting how explainer videos evolve from just “nice to have” into something that directly affects onboarding and conversion once they’re placed on a landing page.
Feels like more SaaS-focused teams are starting to approach them that way, focusing on clarity and user understanding rather than just animation. Studios like Moodive seem to lean into that approach quite a bit.

    Cool vlog.

Honestly, I wish there was a better text-to-speech app, these generated voices are so robotic.

Exactly. Watch out for the next video where I got audio from professional speakers (humans!).
