Creative networking - Random 1-1s instead of meetups

Personally I love 1-1s as a networking approach. I am not a big fan of online meet-ups since they are hard to organise and people don't really get to know each other.
I am also thinking of doing something similar for the dutch indiehacking community. Each Friday morning, you will have a 30mins coffee with an indie-hacker and you will get to know each other. If you feel you are a good match with somebody you can also meet offline after on your own time.
The point of networking is to get to know people and build stable connections, not to just jump on a call and forget each other after.

Hey Jim! I agree 1-1s are great, but imo groups of 3-4 can be even better in terms of efficiently getting to know a larger network. That's why I built https://lunsj.ai/ , kinda like cuppa, but for larger companies / communities.
Another startup that seems to be doing the same as getcuppa is https://lunchclub.ai/, my American friend has been on it for a while and he loves it!
Will check both, thanks so much for sharing them! Also for the 3-4 I totally agree it's like the sweet spot between 1-1 and larger groups.

Hey, just jumping on to say Cuppa is great, I've been using it for maybe a month and a half now, its definitely an interesting way to do remote networking, using it to help build a community, by building on Cuppa's features definitely seems like a good idea
Something I've spoken with a few people about, sort of expanding the concept out, can you create a micro-community of 10ish people, match randomly around the group for short coffees over a week or two, before building up into bigger groups of 2-3, then eventually everyone together and have a pseudo-random remote meetup of this micro-community that'll hopefully have engagement and discussion across the group?
Lot of faults to pick at in that idea, but a way of building those little networks into bigger conversations and knowledge sharing is really interesting to me
