The violent attacks against multiple top streamers show the hidden danges of publicly disclosing wealth.
Content Warning: This article includes X posts depicting violent harassment.
In separate incidents that occurred on the same night, a few of the biggest female streamers faced shocking real-world violence:
Masked intruders invaded the home of Kick and OnlyFans streamer Amouranth, demanding access to her crypto accounts at gunpoint
A separate group of Twitch streamers (Valkyrae, Cinna, and Emiru) got chased and threatened during a livestream
The three Twitch streamers got targeted in LA, and the attack doesn't seem to have been premeditated:
But the same can't be said for Amouranth.
This past Sunday, Amouranth, whose real name is Kaitlyn Siragusa, made a series of terrifying X posts describing a violent home invasion that she had just survived:
Amouranth has become one of the most recognized female streamers globally — in part from her adult content on platforms like Twitch and OnlyFans, and in part from her savvy investments, including buying gas stations and cryptocurrencies.
Last November, Amouranth posted this X screenshot (NSFW!) of her Coinbase dashboard. It showed a balance of 211 Bitcoin, totaling over $200M USD.
This seems to have played a role in the attack that occurred this past Sunday.
But regardless of how the home invaders found out about the crypto, they made it clear that the crypto was what they were after:
Revenue transparency is a big part of indie hacking culture, so this story felt relevant to me.
Indie hackers who publicly disclose their earnings (Amouranth, for instance, earns millions annually through streaming, OnlyFans, and other ventures) should recognize that it carries a few risks.
It's easy to forget that sharing financial wins publicly can translate into real-world risks. The internet makes everything feel abstract, but situations like this remind us that it isn't. Curious how creators balance transparency with personal safety when talking about money online.
Showing 200M+ USD, I mean what did you expect?
I mean you really shouldn’t share your banking info, let alone your crypto, to everyone. Not everyone out there has good intentions.
Amouranth’s robbery for publicly revealing her crypto wealth highlights the dangers of flaunting material possessions. This echoes Surah Al-Waqiah, which reminds us that worldly wealth is temporary and cannot guarantee safety or true happiness. The Surah teaches that real success lies in faith and righteous deeds, not riches. Her story is a modern lesson in humility and caution: material prosperity can attract envy and danger if displayed carelessly.

Bitcoin is $117,000 today (07/19/25) -- 211 x $117,000=$24,000,000 NOT $200,000,000 or $200M ---- little young people are making too much money and don't even know math!!
Really scary stuff. This shows why publicly sharing wealth, especially in crypto, can be dangerous. Even as a small site owner like me at ,I’m now rethinking how much I share online. Stay safe, everyone.
OMG!
Terrifying story. Thanks for sharing it — this kind of reminder is necessary in our space.
Do you think platforms or communities should encourage more privacy by default for creators, especially in crypto? From my side, I think so..
I’ve noticed many solopreneurs underestimate the real-world risks of building in public. This hits home.
never share personal things online
I´m really sorry, this is so bad.
This incident underscores the potential dangers of publicly disclosing substantial cryptocurrency holdings. As digital assets become more mainstream, individuals who openly share their crypto wealth may inadvertently expose themselves to real-world threats.
This is really scary. No one should have to go through something like that just for being open about their money. I’m so glad Amouranth is okay. It’s a reminder that sharing personal info online can be dangerous, especially with crypto. Glad she's safe.
The real world is not the same as the internet.
i think its extremely common nowadays ppl who are more wealthy are getting targetted more and more as they are gaining traction and usually all of them show there wealth to gain more and more followers.
This is terrifying but not that surprising. If we blur personal brand and personal life, especially around crypto or wealth, we simply become more exposed.
So how do you build trust and transparency with your audience?
This is unsettling. It’s easy to forget that sharing numbers publicly, while inspiring for many of us, can come with real risks. Stories like this really shift how we think about transparency.
Absolutely — you’ve summed it up perfectly. Transparency can be powerful, but it also opens doors we don’t always anticipate. It’s a reminder that even well-intentioned sharing needs to be balanced with caution and awareness of potential vulnerabilities
This is rough, people need to be more cautious of what they put on the internet. It's not worth your life to look good/rich for people who don't even know u bruv

This is a harsh reminder that financial privacy is crucial, especially in the digital age. Publicly discussing large crypto holdings can make someone a target. It's similar in business—when companies openly reveal outstanding invoices or unpaid debts, it can invite bad actors. That's why professional debt collection services like wagner Inkassoserivce help businesses recover funds discreetly and securely, minimizing financial risks
Crypto is the future
a lot of these comments are sad because of their skepticism. If you do even a bit of searching you’ll see that the Houston police also put out an ask for help. being an OF girl is its own form of entrepreneurship. The product may or may not be for you, but clearly there is demand. She doesn’t deserve ciolence.
Also Channing you have a typo, I believe it’s $20M. Still very significant!
Hmm, thoughtfull!
i didn't expect to read that
I Didnt wanna read whole post, because it might be waste of time, but since the girl wants attention, maybe its faked?
I wouldn't call that level of skepticism reasonable. If we applied that same logic more broadly, we'd have to cast doubt on almost all bad things that happen to famous people.
Not all, but since it's an OF girl, it tells you something about her personality. Like what she would do to make money, right?
So, I am not saying that we should consider on"almost all bad things that happen to famous people" but on first sight of her, watching that video, and generally seeing pattern of crypto people who share their wealth being roobed or hacked, naturally saw some connection of possibility people doing that to avoid taxes for example. I remember had some reads on that 2017-18 with an ICO hype.
