Cross-posting the same screenshot to five boards on day one burned my story

I used to launch like I was afraid of missing a room. Same screenshot, same one liner, pasted to five boards before lunch. Felt productive. Looked busy on my calendar. What it actually did was flatten the story.

The first board got a half awake maker who answered two comments then jumped to the next submit form. By board three the replies were slower. By board five hunters were seeing the same card they’d already scrolled past somewhere else. A few people even said “didn’t you just post this?” which is a polite way of saying the novelty is gone.

Sequencing fixed more than any tagline rewrite. I do Aura++ first when I want a clean daily read — one morning, one thread, I’m actually in the comments. Then I wait. Sometimes a day. Sometimes until I have a real update (pricing change, demo clip, one new screenshot that isn’t the same dashboard crop). Only then do I take it to a weekly room like IndieHunt. Same product, different chapter. Not a copy paste blitz.

The other quiet win: the later boards get a better maker comment because I’ve already heard the dumb questions once. “How is this different from X” shows up early. By the second board I’ve got a shorter answer ready instead of improvising five times while tired.

I still use multiple platforms. I’m not saying pick one forever. I’m saying day one is for one room where you can stay present. The screenshot can travel later. Your attention can’t be in five comment threads at once without sounding like a bot.
