Crossed 100 signups in 12 hours for my new side-project that was launched today. Is it a good metric?

Just to set some context, I launched NoCode Tube finally after postponing it multiple times during the last 2-3 weeks due to some hiccups.
Finally decided to launch it without pushing it beyond this weekend.
Considering it is FREE to access product, do you think 100 signups since the launch is a good number? It has been a slow day but was expecting even better response considering I had kept it free.
Thoughts and suggestions?

Signups is a good start, but I would quickly augment your analytics. You need to be able to know who is continuing to use your tool and who is not. What components/pages are they using most? What part of the flow do you see the most churn?

I'm not sure whether or not it is a good number. I think it depends on how much overlap there is bewteen Product Hunt users and your target audience, how many people saw the post, and what the click through rate was.
Regardless, I don't think it's an important question to be thinking about. Consider what Demand Curve says about super-node websites like Product Hunt:
It's also listed as an "Unscalable channel". So then, I think a more important question is what your customer acquisition strategy looks like. Are there plausible channels you can use? How can you test them?
Of course customer acquisition is only part of the equation. You also have to think about things like whether you've Made Something People Want and whether have a plausible path towards monetization.

It was definitely not small effort because had to work multiple weekends and add to the other hiccups I had to face. Yes, if you do not account the time and effort and the stack used - the cost is close to zero ;)
You’re so right and I’m sorry if it sounded like I was minimizing the effort you put in. I only meant that the cost of marketing relative to your number of signups (ROI on marketing dollars) was very low- which is a great sign! You’re doing a great job so far!
From my experience (releasing a free mobile web game) the traction you got is very good.

It was about a year ago and I didn't know to do marketing so the only place I published was on LinkedIn and few groups in reddit and I got maybe 10 or 20 people trying my game overall.
Maybe one day I will get back to it, improve my game, it has an interesting concept for customizable web game which is nice but the actual game is very basic.
But now I'm focused on a different web app I'm launching (wedding, birthday and party invitation designer with custom avatars) - http://printaismile.com.
I just released a landing page to get early adopters for https://crossgrowth.io, a platform for showcasing and cross promoting newsletters. For the time being 1 sign up and a few replays in comments and messages. Much less that my expectations.
Hard to compare to your product, since you released it, but imo 100 signups is great. Voted it. I would advice you to post it also on https://www.reddit.com/r/SideProject/, sometimes I look there, and you might get some new product hunt votes from there. Any vote matters. Congrats!

Where did you launch your product or are you yet to do?
For the time being I launched only the landing page, added it only to indie hackers, I mentioned it in many comments. When I'll publish the first version of the site, I'll add it to reddit and maybe producthunt.

Primarily planning to focus on relevant communities and share about it further on directories.
Also, I haven't indexed the website yet on Google. Would like to initiate it in another 7-10 days so I can see how it can help as the project evolves.

By the end of launch day, the signups were around 21% of the sessions.
