CTO / System architect - Looking for your interesting idea to talk about for 1 hour

Thanks for sharing your ideas .
i decided to summarise some useful tips from the calls / emails.

Tech stuff :

1. Design right Talk with solution architect - developers / team leaders / HO . don't know more than what they did /build. solution architects work on many projects . AWS / GCE will be happy to provide you access one of their cloud architect to build the core design of your product . it will save a lot of money / time.

2. Part time CTO from the get go - If founders are non tech , once a week CTO with a dev team is a great middle ground for saving CTO high salaries and use the developers time efficiently. making sure there is guidance and save some equity spread among developers that will not be able to evolve into a CTO / VP RD.

3. Tech Stacks for UI - cross platforms products - ReactNative - one code base for all platforms - iOS / Android / Web .

4. Database - Use MySQL until it crashes . 99% of any product can run on MySQL free version . Relational DB are still the easiest way to understand data structures.
   Once it crashed , it means that you have some traction / usage on your products. great go now and fix it . with the right design it's not that hard to change it.
   any thing else will require much more time to understand and longer dev cycles. go SQL until it burns.

5. Data Piping - Saas Products should manage some analytics. if you have it in mind and your data have some connection to ROI / Usage / Support a major operation that related to a KPI.
   Be nice and humble and support an update to a major analytic service in an easy way.
   for example - if your product help a website with some sale , support pipe of your special data end point to Google analytic and build all the integration inside , so client will just add a hash and off it goes :) .

6. Cloud cost - if you are here so some things are running well , or you are looking for some free servers . for the second part its AWS / GCE credits up to 5K for startups its not a problem.
   for high usage server cost, the first fight is always the CPU usage. its a winnable fight and it take some rethinking of your solution. the more dangerous one is networking. AWS / GCE take 5X networking fees then physical servers. and as a product its require heavy coding to reduce as this is the last thing developers think about. try to use small packets as possible and keep this in mind while designing the client code.

Funding :

7. Grants Money - The EU provide grants that require 20% funding from the company and can add 80% for R&D in some specific countries in the EU. look it up its a great resource to reduct RD cost. you will need to pass an interview with the grant board but its up to 2M euro a year.
