Curious about your opinion (new website)

Hi everyone!

About two weeks ago I've launched backendjob.com which is a backend developer focused job board.

The reason I've created the nth job board is I really wanted to start a website of my own, but only about a topic I am interested in.

It is totally free to post new positions as my only aim now is to see if I can grow the visitors and posts made on the site. Later I can change the model depending on the situation.

I have some plans for the future with it, one of them is a blog with content that could help people to get their first junior developer job as I was also in the same shoes like those who just start their journey (from no coding background to developer in aviation industry).

Could you give some feedback, opinions? It would be really useful!

Thank you and have a great day!

    Couple of quick thoughts:

    • Filtering for tech is nice, but I think it's essential to filter for job location (I know lots of them are remote, but still)
    • Same for other filters, I don't know if your data allows that currently but salary range, experience level etc. are important to find something fitting for me
    • the URLs of your individual job offer pages are kinda long/ugly
    • I don't think your cookie consent passes GDPR guidelines, maybe use some sort of pre-built one if you actually need the user's consent (e.g. the open-source version of this: https://www.osano.com/cookieconsent/download/)
    • kind of an advanced idea, but I'd love more context on the employer while browsing the job list, maybe it'd be nice to have direct links to their website/glassdoor/kununu
    • personally endless scroll annoys me, but that's just my opinion (and it's nice that you managed to implement it smoothly)
    • I guess the the design is quirky and fits the audience, but could use some work to make it more appealing visually
    • I would have never guessed that I had to click the email on top to navigate back to the home screen after clicking a form, that's kinda confusing

Nevertheless, congrats on getting your idea out there, since there's already quite some of these out there I'm sure you can also get some more inspiration from existing ones!

Good ideas, and fair points. Thanks for your feedback!
