Cut my Heroku fees by over $125

I've been struggling to figure out how to cut my Heroku fees AND improve the performance of my web apps. I realized that some of our websites, despite not being our main focus, were using up more resources than others and more than they actually needed.

With that, I learned about heroku-fork and split my single web server into three separate Heroku web apps that each served different purposes.

One Heroku app for primary apps, another for second apps, and a third for our short link services that only respond with 301 redirects.

Now I can dedicate more resources to our primary apps without it being consumed by secondary apps, and I can spend way less on maintaining secondary apps without loss of performance. Finally our shork link services don't need many resources, so they are cheap to keep up and running and won't be slowed down by our actual web apps.
