Cutting hosting costs without sacrificing reliability

As indie makers, we optimize everything—except sometimes hosting, where we just pay whatever renewal bill arrives.

I spent 18 months tracking InterServer's "price lock" to see if it was real or just another marketing angle.

For context: My SaaS was on DigitalOcean ($60/mo) before this. Now on shared hosting at $7/mo with better uptime.

Trade-offs I found:

Lower cost ✅

Price predictability ✅

Less control over server config ❌

Support slower than DO ⚠️

Anyone else testing alternative hosting to cut MRR burn?
