Hi, has anyone taken out insurance for their startup? I host some customer data (surveys etc.) so am looking for advice on how to do this. Many thanks!
Hi ManEval,
I'm an insurance hacker and here are a few links that will help you out.
https://www.coverwallet.com/insurance/cyber-liability-data-breach I believe you can get a quote online from them.
This company requires an agent or broker, https://www.wingmaninsurance.com/#home
I really wish more people thought about insurance before going live with any product or project. There's a lot at risk for you and your clients and it's difficult to see where the real risks are but if you are simply holding data, then you need cyber liability. If you are designing, building, hosting software or services, then you need the E&O. Please let m e know if you have other questions. I'm always happy to talk about insurance.
Thank you so much. I wrote to them, and am receiving a quote. I also looked up foundershield.com who seem to be pretty good. I do need E&O because this is a SaaS app.
It's a lot of money to spend every month so this also drove me complete the much needed activities I had been putting off for my SaaS (backups, security, legal terms and conditions etc.).
